Dr. Gamboa believes in partnering with the patient towards a common goal of achieving physical and psychological well-being through patient education and empowerment. Dr. Gamboa received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Universidad Privada del Valle in Bolivia in 2002 and completed her Family Medicine residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo, Texas in 2010. After finishing her residency she relocated to the DFW Metroplex area where she was appointed Assistant Professor at the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center and completed a Faculty Development Fellowship at the same teaching institution. Currently she is working part time at UTSW outpatient clinics where she supervises residents and medical students. Dr. Gamboa also recognized the need to help those who were struggling with their weight and decided to become certified in obesity medicine. Being a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine has given her the tools and knowledge to help her patients lose their weight, regain control and improve their quality of life. She is Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has a passion for Women’s Health, dermatology and office-based procedures. Dr. Gamboa plans to incorporate aesthetics to her practice in the near future.
